About Us
Our story
During her doctorate at UFRJ, our founder Nina James came to know fruit vinegar , a different European product with an amazing flavor. And the idea came to make this product using fruits native to Brazil. After many tests and experiments, our sweet and sour sauce was born.
In the difficult year of 2020, we were selected by FAPERJ in the project "Doutor Empreendedor" and we accepted the challenge of creating Potybá.
The name "Potybá" comes from poty, meaning "flower" in Guarani and yba, meaning "fruit" in Tupi indigenous langages.
Our Products
We started producing sweet and sour fruit sauce. The jabuticaba is the most requested!
Now our family is growing and we present our frizzy drink, a slightly acidic and carbonated refreshing drink with 10% fruit pulp, a type of natural soft drink.
We also have bittersweet pearls, our version of balsamic vinegar pearls, or pearls of balsamic vinegar.
